New York joining the union

The Convention state voted for the ratification of the constitution in 1788, which led to the entering of the new state member, who had joined the Union, the eleventh of the original thirteen Colonies, New York. Ratification took place in the city of Poughkeepsie, eight miles north of New York City, and eighty-five miles south of Albany, the state capital.
